London Project Experience: Murphy’s Yard
At Murphy’s Yard, between Kentish Town and Gospel Oak in North London, S-FABS fabricated and installed a new support frame for a filming studio inside an existing railway building. The project needed a clear studio space and support for specialist equipment without adding load to the original structure.
We used a 3D point-cloud survey and Tekla modelling to coordinate the new frame with the existing roof trusses before manufacture. The steelwork was then fabricated off site and carefully installed within the confined space.
The project shows how our drawing office, fabrication and installation teams work together when an existing building leaves little room for error.
